Has greater Equality undermined the ability to Objectify between the es?

i would agree largely with what you've said, but i think it would have been much harder to live with someone i had nothing in common with for 40.. 50... or even 60 years. so, the selection process was easier then but i believe the consequences of that selection were much harder to live with.
